Listing Description
Essentially Lavender opened in 2018 on a rolling picturesque farm on Concession 10 just northwest of Teeswater. The farm came with fields, pastures, woodlots, ponds and the Teeswater River on the eastern boundary. This attractive site compliments our lavender plantings.
Our fields incorporate seven main cultivars of lavender to provide a variety of colour and to extend the bloom time for your enjoyment.
To enhance your experience at the farm, we have provided several comfortable seating areas as well as some picnic tables for those that would like to relax on site where they can enjoy being enveloped by the sight and scent of lavender.
In addition to the lavender gardens, we have an xeriscape garden featuring drought tolerant plants. A seven circuit labyrinth has been provided where you can enjoy a quiet stroll through a series of loops until you come to the central feature of the garden. Each circuit of the labyrinth represents the primary chakras found in the eastern spiritual tradition as each circuit is defined by a different coloured flower.
Since we are all about lavender, there are some Lavender Orpington chickens on site and some bees at the apiary that are busy producing our lavender honey.
Our lavender is harvested for fresh and dried bouquets but is also harvested for use in our small batch, natural products that we produce and sell in our on-site lavender boutique. Some of our products include soaps, lotions, linen spray, balms, insect spray, sachets, bath salts, lavender tea blends, deodorant and facial cleanser and toner. Lavender plants are also available for sale at the boutique.
So come on out for a tour and “stimulate your senses”.
